Keeping calm and peaceful in stressing situations is innate for some of us, but most times it is a conscious choice.
Deciding to stop dwelling on all the negative that surrounds us these days and to focus on the positive of the present moment can be a life saver, so how do we do that ?
One way is to set aside a few minutes every day to write down or just think about all the things you are grateful for in your life, it could be as simple as having a house to be confined in, having your family with you, or having friends you can connect with through social media.
Then, when sadness or anxiety creep up in your day, you can stop a few moments, breathing deeply and slowly, which has been scientifically proven to calm down your nervous system, while thanking life for all the positive things you have around you.
Try this : next time you catch yourself stressing too much or being too anxious, just give yourself permission to sit down in a quiet place, take a couple of slow, deep breaths, let your eyes close, and think about or visualize all the blessings you can be grateful for…you will reach a light hypnotic state, which will help your mind shift towards peace and calm.
